Recently
the temporary position I have been working the last several weeks became permanent. Whoo hoo! (Two
thumbs up for health benefits that start immediately, a company paid bus pass,
and other perks) It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I can
take a deep breath and know that I have a steady source of income. I hadn’t
fully realized just how important it is until now. I’m really not a fan of uncertainty.
I’m pretty excited to be able to check this off my to-do list. The down time that I have at work allows me to work on various writing projects. That’s another win.

To
mark the occasion one of my co-workers had another co-worker put together an
arrangement of lilacs from her garden just for me. They smelled great and were
so pretty. Plus purple is my favorite color so of course I was going to love
them. The temp agency I was working with also sent me a rose and a balloon.
Just those two small tokens of appreciation go a long way. They both brightened
my day.
Now
that “finding a permanent job” is off the list it’s time to go out and get more
things done. First up is finding an apartment. This won’t be simple. The Seattle
housing market isn’t an easy maze to navigate.
