We’re thawing out now but for about a day or so snow blanketed much of the Seattle area. While the mountains are always capped with snow the lowlands of the Puget Sound region are a different story. We get snow about every other year. Typically it isn’t very heavy and is gone quickly.
Growing up in the south snowstorms aren't a regular occurrence so I’m always excited to see it. The snow was so bright it felt like the sun was out. Also, there was a stillness outside. The only sounds I heard were of cars passing by and the giggles of neighborhood kids making snowmen.
Here are few pictures from around my neck of the woods.

"Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather."
-John Ruskin
